New digital platform launched after Beta trial

New digital platform, Proteus, is a cloud-based operating system that can transform the way in which businesses source and use talent to resource and deliver projects. By connecting companies with the talent they need, as and when they need it, and making remote working as effective as being in the office, Proteus removes utilisation waste, reduces overheads and increases productivity. The developers claim that Proteus can increase profits by as much as 30%.

“With the vast majority of the world’s workforce working from home in recent months, the COVID19 crisis has demonstrated that remote working is possible. Proteus can now make permanent remote working highly profitable,” explained Colin Manson, the energy entrepreneur behind the product.

Proteus was originally designed to meet the specific challenges facing energy companies in resourcing complex engineering projects where a lack of talent, slow adoption of technology and social pressure have come together to pose a major headache for an industry which must deliver projects to meet the global demand for hydrocarbons, while delivering net-zero carbon emissions.

But the new digital platform that facilitates working remotely within a working environment is suitable for all industry sectors who are looking to increase efficiency by removing fixed overheads and needless cost, improve utilisation rates and project management, while reducing the carbon emission from commuting and travelling.

To support businesses in the current climate, Proteus is being offered free to all users from May to July.

Mr Manson explained: “The COVID19 crisis has forced us into remote working and, as a result, there is going to be a fundamental shift in working culture moving forward. Using Proteus, businesses can capitalise on this and, as restrictions are eased, we’re offering a three-month free period to allow businesses to test the product and see for themselves the benefits it brings and how they can be well-placed to exploit the new norm.”

At the heart of new digital platform, Proteus, is a cloud-based system that, in itself, would be a massive leap forward for most companies, said Mr Manson. “These systems are not new, but they are complex, not well-liked and expensive, often failing to make the efficiencies they were designed for. Proteus is easy to use and, at the heart of a business, it facilitates collaborative team-working, the optimisation of data and simplified workflows.”

Proteus connects all business workflows seamlessly with everything in one place accessed through a single point data entry. From finding opportunities through to closing out invoices and everything in between.

A proposal generator allows quick and efficient development of proposals using a template structure, cost estimates from saved data, CV’s from a single source, and an integrated planning tool. A project management system links to the proposal. Real-time project data can be viewed at any time and linked to an automatic project reporting system. Tracking of all manhours, software and equipment usage are all linked back to the project management system and invoicing. The mobile app allows users to keep on top of opportunities, proposals and tracking project progress while on the move.

“The beauty of Proteus is that it adds, what we call, the marketplace to the work operating system. This marketplace connects companies with the best suited freelance contractors for the job. Individuals can search for projects and update their profile and status. Companies can post opportunities and search for rated freelancers and specific services to optimise their teams effortlessly and cost-effectively without incurring additional overheads,” explained Mr Manson.

By adopting Proteus, as a new way of operating, the remote working we’ve been forced into during lock-down can become the new norm and working culture transformed forever, claimed Mr Manson.
