How Proteus keeps your data secure.
Hosting infrastructure
Proteus runs on AWS, with its primary data centre in Ireland and a data residency option for Australia. Active-active infrastructure keeps the service running through a failure, and each customer's data is held in its own database. Backups are taken every 5 minutes and kept for 30 days, with a 48-hour recovery time objective.
Encrypted sign-on
All data in transit is encrypted with HTTPS/TLS (TLS 1.3 supported). Sign in with a username and password under enforced complexity policies, or use single sign-on over SAML or OAuth 2.0, including Microsoft Azure Active Directory, to add two-factor authentication. AWS Web Application Firewall guards against attacks such as SQL injection and DDoS.
Multi-level user permissions
Role-based access controls who can view, edit and approve data. Our own teams work to the principle of least privilege, and every API call is authenticated. Independent penetration testing is carried out each year, and our security policies are reviewed annually under ISO 27001.
